Winter depression

I had an early class this morning (10am :)) and it is definately not getting easier waking up in the mornings, even as weeks pass since I came home from L.A. And as if waking up isn't difficult enough, actually leaving the house is almost worse. I actually think I need an astonaut uniform to handle the cold here. Today it is -9°C (15°F) and about 5" of snow everywhere. The snowfall in January has been in total 10" and we're only just half way through January.
Sunglasses are a must this time of year, as they are good in the summer time, they are a total necessity in the winter time because the sun only reaches half way up in the sky, not high enough for the sunscreens in my car to do any good and (thank god) not low enough to stay below the horizon, so it's right there in your eyes, unless it's a cloudy day of course.
On a more positive note, the days are getting longer and it actually is only pitchblack until about 8:45 in the morning, then twilight takes 2 hours and it is fully bright by 11. In the evening it starts to get dark at about 4 and again twilight takes 2 hours.
